Fun & relaxed wedding day guide
This is your no fuss, down-to-earth guide to how I photograph a wedding day – from the morning madness to the dance floor chaos.
This page gives you a peek into how I work, what to expect, and how I capture all the real, candid, joy-filled moments as your day unfolds. No awkward posing, no cheesy setups – just relaxed, colourful wedding photography that feels just like you.
About
Hey, I’m Helen!
Your pastel-haired hype girl and storytelling sidekick based in Norfolk but always up for an adventure. I capture weddings full of emotion, colour, and real connection, always with a big heart and a chilled-out vibe. Whether you're planning a garden bash, a disco in the woods, or a city celebration, I’m here for all the love stories — and I’ll be dancing right there with you.

So the big day is finally here...
Expect a mix of excitement, nerves, and happy chaos.
here’s a little rundown of how I work on the day to keep things smooth and stress-free.
IN THE MORNING :
The Big Moment :
Just married vibes :
DURING THE DAY :
Quick Snaps, Big Laughs
Raise your glasses :
The Quiet Bit Before the Chaos :
TIME TO PARTY...!
I’ll usually rock up around 1.5 to 2 hours before it’s time to head off for the ceremony – plenty of time to capture all the fun, nerves, details and the general “we’re doing this!” energy while you’re getting ready. From then on, I’ll be mostly in the background, documenting the good stuff – the hugs, the happy tears, the wild laughs and everything in between.
Obviously, I can't be in two places at once, so if you're getting ready separately and you want to see what each other get up to, I would recommend adding an extra slice. This is my second shooter option, so you not only get to see each other's morning antics (and who had a cheeky McDonalds breakfast) but also a relaxed dual angle throughout your whole day.
This is the bit you’ve been waiting for!
Time to say your "I do's".
During the ceremony itself, I’m in stealth mode – quiet, respectful, and snapping all those beautiful reactions, happy tears, and “OMG it’s really happening” glances.
You did it!
Now it’s time for hugs, cheers, confetti and drinks. I’ll be weaving my way through your guests, capturing all the real stuff – the big laughs, the emotional embraces, and all the candid goodness.
This is where the story really starts to unfold, and I’ll be right there documenting it all (while obviously offering quality control on your canapés).
Sometime during the drinks reception, I’ll whisk you away for some relaxed couple photos – just a quick breather to soak it all in, maybe shout “WE’RE MARRIED!!” into the sky, have a cuddle and take a few beautiful snaps while you wander, chat, and just be together.
I won’t steal you for ages either – 15 minutes after the ceremony once you've had the chance to mingle with your guests, a quick 10 after dinner, and maybe another 5 in the evening for some lush golden-hour shots. That’s it!
My goal is to get you back to your amazing day, not pull you away from it.
I’ll also grab a few group shots of your VIPs – the ones your mums will definitely want on the fridge. But let’s keep it quick and painless: around 6-8 groups is the sweet spot. And if you can nominate a couple of guest-wranglers, it makes the whole thing way easier and faster, we’ll be done in no time.
Time for the speeches – all the belly laughs, the tears, the eye rolls at the “jokes” – I’ll be capturing it all.
While you’re enjoying your meal, I’ll take a little break too (no one wants photos mid-chew, promise).
Then, once everyone’s full and happy, it’s time to hit the dance floor. I usually stay about 1 or 2 songs after the first dance and then I’ll sneak off and leave you to dance the night away with your favourites.
If you're planning an epic party and don't want the good stuff to end when I head off, you’re gonna want the Extra Cheese.
This cheeky little add-on means I stick around longer to capture all the wild dance moves, tequila toasts, late night snacks, sparkler photos, and whatever surprises you’ve got up your sleeve. Whether it’s dance floor confetti cannons, karaoke chaos, or a conga line through the courtyard — I’ll be there, camera in hand, ready to document every last legendary moment.
I love getting stuck into the party – it’s the only way to catch all the epic moves and chaos!
Because let’s be honest… the party pics?
They’re the ones you’ll be laughing at forever.
