A hidden gem wedding venue in Essex
Tucked away in the Essex countryside, Blake Hall is one of those venues that just gets it. Think rustic barns, beautiful gardens, and a layout that flows so naturally from one part of the day to the next. It’s the kind of place where everything feels easy, and that energy carries through your whole wedding. For these two brides, it was the perfect backdrop for a day that felt relaxed, personal, and completely them.
The morning felt calm, happy, and full of anticipation.
The couple chose to get ready separately, each having that “traditional” wedding morning with their own people. Surrounded by family, friends, music, and all those little moments that build up to something big. It meant they could fully soak it in, before seeing each other properly for the first time later on.
The big moment... but make it different!
And this is where it got really special.
Instead of the usual aisle moment, they met at the top together, with their parents, sharing that first look in a way that felt completely intentional and grounding.
Then, in one of the loveliest twists on tradition, their parents walked down the aisle together... followed by the brides walking in side by side.
No “giving away.” No expectations. Just the start of something equal, shared, and entirely theirs.
A little bit of them (The Secret Handshake!)
Right before their first kiss, they slipped in a secret handshake. One of those tiny, blink-and-you-miss-it moments that meant everything.
It had everyone smiling, and it summed them up perfectly: fun, personal, and completely unapologetically them.
Just married vibes (aka the best bit!!)
The confetti moment? Unreal.
A full-on explosion of paper confetti from Flutter Darlings, mixed with bubbles floating through the air. Chaotic in the best way, and an absolute dream to photograph.
Those are the moments you can feel when you look back at your photos, laughter, movement, pure joy.
We kept things relaxed. No long photo lists, no disappearing for hours. Just a few natural couple portraits around the grounds of Blake Hall, letting them soak it all in.
Because your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot. It’s a day you actually get to experience. It’s about being there, in it, with everyone you love. That just married feeling that you wish you could bottle up forever.
